Pagoda Golf Area opened in 1993 constructed on the former Lutz farm, the result of years of planning by PGA Professional David Rupp. Heavy emphasis was placed on providing the public with quality golf merchandise and PGA instruction, and in fact PGA is an acronym of Pagoda Golf Area. Three time PGA Merchandiser of the Year (1990, 1995, 2005), five time Ping club fitter of the year(1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2010) Callaway clubfitter of the year 2005, and a five time Titleist top 100 club fitter(2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) the facility is second to none in providing quality golf products, customer service, and professional golf knowledge to its customers. It is the premier golf facility for both the serious and casual golfer.
The facility offers 24 covered artificial hitting stations from a 2 tiered enclosure, 15 artificial turf hitting stations, and over 2 acres of natural grass hitting area. Other amenities include an artificial turf putting green and chipping area; a sand bunker practice area; an 18 hole miniature golf course; and a full service snack bar, Big Bertha's.
The golf shop, driving range, and miniature golf are open year round rain or snow and are lighted in the summer for nighttime use. The Golf Range Association of America recognized Pagoda Golf Area as one of the Top 100 Golf Ranges in America. In June of 2010 PING Golf Company designated Pagoda Golf Area a PING Fitting and Performance Center, one of a small number of such facilities currently in the United States. The state-of-the art fitting center features the PING N FLIGHT fitting software utilizing doppler radar as well as the JC Teaching software and video analysis...the most technologically advanced system currently available anywhere.
